Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman who is a businesswoman. She is the owner and president of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. A California native, Buss grew up in an affluent family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon, and later the owner of Lakers and other enterprises. Following the divorce of her parents in 1972 She began feeling as if she was abandoned. She joined the family business when she was 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. She then founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. The position she held was President of Great Western Forum prior to being elected vice-president of the Lakers. Buss along with her five brothers and sisters and their father, who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder up to his death in 2013, took over this ownership through an estate. The five siblings enjoyed equally vote rights. She assumed the office of the president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
