Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number was released in 1994. The album was Gold in the year she turned just 15 years old. The collaboration was highly in the style of R. Kelly, and helped put her on the map. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri as well as Timbaland collaborated to produce the second album of hers, One In A Million. It featured the track If Your Boyfriend Only Knew as the single number one. With the success of this album, Aaliyah received international recognition for her work as an R&B artist. She appeared alongside martial arts legend Jet Li in the action-romance film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, the film producer, met her at the awards ceremony and kindly offered her this part. The year 2002 was the time she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced movie about horror Queen of the Damned. The Matrix Sequels was her first appearance in The Matrix Sequels. She is the first generation Indian-American to be born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann comes from her married name Mankad. She uses Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar for her stage name. Although her early career was filled with minor television and film parts, she gained notoriety in the late 2000s. Other than The Big Bang Theory her other notable works are Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) and Grey's Anatomy (2017). Her commercials have featured major brands, such as Volvo. She currently lives at Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
